About Stark Special Olympics
We would like to formally welcome you to the Stark County Board of DD Special Olympics program! We currently are serving more than 500 athletes in the Stark County area, offering six different sports. Each one of our teams has a collection of well experienced and knowledgeable coaches that help make our seasons possible. Our program has been up and running for over 30 years and is continuing to thrive thanks to our individuals, coaches, volunteers, and parents.
We have received your Special Olympics application here at our office. At this time, you have medical clearance to participate in our athletic programs for three years from the date of the physical examination. At the end of those three years, another medical application will have to be submitted.
As stated before, we offer six different Special Olympic sports throughout the year.
- BOWLING – -> (January through June)
- BOCCE – -> (April through June)
- TRACK AND FIELD – -> (March through June)
- SOFTBALL – -> (July through September)
- SWIMMING – -> (September through December)
- BASKETBALL – -> (November through March)
What is your next step? With your registration complete, athletes need to choose which teams they would like to join and attend that sports’ sign-up day. Team registration takes place prior to the start of the season. The date and location will be announced. We would like to invite you to visit our Board’s website at www.starkdd.org/specialolympics to find information about our program along with upcoming sign up dates, information, and athlete forms. And of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please call Coordinator Bryan Stuck at 330-479-3794 or email email@example.com
